You never cared about anything on the Earth. You were bored with everything. Or maybe your thirst for exploration couldn’t be quenched. Whatever the reason, the moment Project M. A. R. S (M. A. R. S. Anthropogenic Reconnaissance and Settlement) was announced, you didn’t even finish reading the mission plan, you already applied for it. Permanent settlement on the Mars with only very small chance of returning didn’t faze you a bit.
5 years later, the public reality show started and, while it was tough, you passed the basic and advanced training. The goal was in sight and you were chosen one of the final 16 people to send to Mars. What is more, you are one of the 4 that will be sent in the first wave! More training awaited you, but eventually, after 8 years, after 2 year long journey that you were mostly kept under artificial sleep, you are finally in orbit above Mars ready to hit the atmosphere!
Will this Project M.A.R.S be a success or will you all die? Will you ever return home or are you destined to stay on the red planet forever?
