Imagine you’re a sailor on a square-rigged ship. The ship’s hull is scarred from sea monster attacks. The mainsail is patched where the cannonball struck. One of your crewmates walks through bleeding holes in the fabric of space. Another knows four of the twelve original words of Creation.
You saved a rival’s life in a sea battle. You rescued an Eclipse from the Inquisition. You kissed a mermaid on a dare (you’ll carry the scar for life). You’ve stolen a dance from a Musketeer and threatened a pirate on her own ship.
You’ve seen children fighting furiously for scraps. You were sickened by the smell of an Inquisitorial execution on the morning breeze. You’ve met good sailors disabled and abandoned at port with quarter-pay. You’ve shaken the scarred hand of a merchant captain who freed herself from slavery.
You’ve sailed from frozen Grumfather Bay to the warm, fertile shores of Jaragua. You’ve seen some of the best and worst that humanity can do. You know Theah needs Heroes. And now, you have the chance to make a difference.
