Nine years ago, six adventurers tried to defeat the great evil growing in Alkoria. To shorten that story, they failed. Five of were darkened, and one just barely escaped. Their story became infamous. And now, you are being invited to try again.
The world of Alkoria was a beautiful place, consisting of five regions:
- The Skylands, home of flying creatures,
- The Aquablue- home to those who swim
- The Lightlands- land that the light touches that doesn’t belong to the other categories,
- The Beneath- The underground region
*The Thunderclouds- Large, fluffy, clouds. Connect the Skylands.
But in the midst of this, a small seedling of evil began to grow- the Dark Forest. It quickly grew, and began to take over some areas of the other region. The areas where it grew became devoid of light, and misty. And creatures who stayed in the forest for too long would have their minds taken over, what people called being ‘Changed’, after which you became a ‘Dark Heart’. The Changed were never seen again.
When a creature becomes a Dark Heart, the Dark Forest grows.
When the Dark Forest grows, the change from is unnoticeable at first. There is still light, and no fog. This makes it extremely dangerous. Creatures not knowing that the area is part of the Dark Forest wander in, and become Dark Hearts.
Over the last 29 years the Dark Forest has grown rapidly. Everyone thought those who go near it are crazy, and will be changed. So when a very young and naive girl name Chi-Chi put up a sign for an expedition into to find her Changed parents, almost everyone thought she was crazy to go into the forest, and only five travelers signed up to come with her.
The people who told her she was crazy were right. Although they brought light- the one thing that will keep you from being changed- the five travelers who went with Chi-Chi all became Dark Hearts. Chi-Chi barely escaped, and no-one knows where she is now.
Myths tell that there is a dark core inside the forest- where the power of the Dark Forest resides. The myths say if you get the core you will hold the power of the Dark Forest- or even the power to destroy it.
For the second time in the Dark Forest’s history, creatures band together to go and retrieve the core and destroy the dark forest- but on their dark journey, they learn that the Dark Forest isn’t what it seems and have to make a decision that can change the world of Alkoria.
