An unsteady peace reigns over the land of Kounia. For hundreds of years the city-states of the region existed in a tense equilibrium, balancing their fierce independence with their natural ambitions. Frequent wars over territory, wealth and honor filled their stories with legendary heroes and betrayals, while their relative isolation from the outside world kept them safe from the machinations of great powers from across the Krasi Skouro Sea. Now those proud despots and ancient republics bow to their northern neighbor, the fearsome King Enas of Voreios. Though the cities fought valiantly against the armies of the north, Enas brought with him something from the mountains that made even the most valiant defense impossible to sustain.
King Enas brought dragons.
Now that none in the realm dare oppose him, King Enas has called for a great conclave to determine the future of his new kingdom. The Companions of the Scale and Sky, the elite cadre of dragon-riders credited with winning the war, are tasked to watch over the assembly.
King Enas has declared that the outcome of this gathering will change the face of the world.
He has no idea how right he will be.
