Note: Throughout this story, I will make extensive use of detailed fantasy maps to document the game-world. Part of the world map is above, the Kingdom of Ebrad is on the bottom right in purple.
Genre: Medieval-themed political fantasy.
In the fantasy world of Sodifas, where elves, dwarves, and humans all roam the land, tragedy has befallen in the kingdom of Ebrad. The aging King fell ill and died within the span of only a few short days - there are rumours of poison by internal enemies - and the Crown Prince was kidnapped just hours before his father’s death.
Crown Prince Sharlid was an only child, and he was an athletic, hale boy - so the ministers never established who the throne would go to next in the case of his death. Upon his disappearance, an uproar was raised. The Kingdom only became even more chaotic when the King himself died a few hours later.
Now, a week later, the throne in the capital is accumulating dust, and people whisper that the royal lineage shall forever be lost. Some of the most able-bodied and clever soldiers were sent to track down their last hope, Prince Sharlid.
Only one of them came back five days later, wild-eyed and insane.
The situation has been getting worse and worse, and no one knows what to do. It’s been long enough that reports have come in of their long-time enemies, the Tsardom of Rech and Kingdom of Phan, mobilizing their armies to ‘assist their neighbor in their time of need’, and there is no one for the people to band together under to stop them.
The commoners have always loved the royal family, and when a few friends meet in their favourite tavern in a town near the capital, they decide that Sharlid needs to be found before it is too late. And that they are going to be the ones to do it.
But the path to finding the lost prince will be long and fraught with danger. Worse evils than just enemy armies lurk in the shadows.
And they don’t have much time before it is too late.
