In Victorian London, the mysterious Promethean Guild dreams of immortality, believing it to be humanity’s birthright- and they believe it’s possible by combining humans and technology.
At first they only dabble in making automatons, mechanical beings with no organic components- when these creations gain sentience, they refuse to acknowledge it.
It’s then that they move on to their final goal- the fusing of human beings with their technological creations- and thus they create the first “clockwork people”; People with technological enhancements based on their automatons. But they commit terrible atrocities in doing so.
Children are kidnapped, workers and nobility alike disappear, and innocent people die in the process of being converted to clockwork people.
Someone was bound to notice. What do they do about it?
