For sixty years, the cabins at Buckridge Park have served as host to two summer camps—Roquefort Boys Club and Mary K. Wellsley’s Foundation for Young Women. The two groups duked it out the entire month of July, cabin versus cabin, in a series of team-building activities and fun competitions overseen by counselors and volunteers.
For attendees, Buckridge Park provided an exciting respite from everyday life. There were picturesque lakes, mountain trails, zip lines, orchards, and a tucked away mansion. Originally belonging to the Buckridge family, the land was hidden away near the town of Longbow, home once to a Native American tribe before becoming an artisanal town known for handcrafts, woodcraft and gourmet cheese.
The festivities began without a hitch, both camps happily exploring their surroundings and playing pranks on one another. Then, midway through the month, the first dead body was found. If not for the fact that a boy was already missing for twenty-four hours, no one would have known who it was. Paul Lawrence, a popular member of Roquefort, was unrecognizable. There was some semblance of clothes and skin on his bones, but not much else.
Somber announcements followed and arrangements were made to send the children home. At least, that would have happened, had the next morning not presented the few survivors with a terrible sight—skeletal remains formed into a strange symbol near the lake. Can this group escape Buckridge Park and uncover its dark secrets, or will they be forever lost in mystery?
