Last year a huge object appeared in orbit, a mystery to all, within 18 hours and 13 minutes from when the object appeared every Hero and Villain vanished from the face of the earth, and just as mysteriously as the object appeared it too vanished. The long protectors of earth and those who fought them where all gone. After a few weeks without their return the event was called Ragnarok as it was the end of an era, fear was widespread, governments prepared for an invasion that never came, and after months all returned to normal, at least as normal as a world without heroes and villains could be.
That was until amateurs across the world started stumbling on bases and instead of hoarding all that they found for themselves decided to sell it to benefit the world. Thus the DIY Superpower movement was born, encouraging people to self-empower and experiment on themselves, even some have gone further into raiding bases for secrets, power, money, or overall excitement. The Status Quo did what they could to stifle the movement, but in doing so just drove them into the shadows.
New Arcadia has become a place of rising stars, new types of Heroes and Villains are on the horizon and unlike the Ideal these new heroes are out to shake things up. Are you the ones that will try to step in and fill the big shoes left behind by the Ideal? Are you out for fame, fortune, or power? Are you a nonhuman fighting for equal rights or to take a stand against the Status Quo? Are you someone tied to a Hero or Villain looking for answers of what happened in Ragnarok? Whoever you are you have invested interest in protecting New Arcadia and maybe… the World.
