The city makes its own music: the pulse of the trains that run above the sidewalks, the honk of taxi horns, the rhythm of street musicians playing trash cans on street corners, the call-and-response of hawkers with pirated movies and jewelry of questionable origin.
It’s a regular city, a place of stunning wealth almost side by side with abject poverty.
