THIS IS A REBOOT:
What I mean, this game has already existed. I have already gone from beginning to end. But, what we as players have yet to try, is rewriting a world from the ground up. The skeleton is there, the source material could be read or not, and I want to see what is the difference that is created between the two games. I am keeping all of the items the exact same for now, but as it changes, the cards will change. I am not looking for the exact same story, because that would be dreadfully boring, but to use the same skeleton I want to see what muscle shapes the form with new players!
At the core of the narrative is a pulpy noir style unfolding of a murder mystery.
Three cities all occupying the same horizontal space live separated from each other vertically. The untrained can not see the layers and they are more interconnected than anyone could believe. A murder takes place in the central city–of men on earth, and detectives involved spiral into a web of mystery that connects the three cities together.
It has a crass and witty slant to a supernaturally powered noir story. As the narrator I’m running a series of planned gambits for the characters to interact in and a plethora of side characters to keep up the suspense and drama. Please use the comments section to drive the narrative to make sure it remains inclusive and add influence to the direction independent of your individual turns.
Magic has four components.
One: “swirling” æther. Affects gravity
Two alchemical processes.
Three: communing with the spirit world.
Four: the schisms and rubbing of the three cities against one another.
