In the year 1947, the small town of Roswell, New Mexico lit up as an unidentified craft tumbled out of the sky onto a small ranch. The United States government quickly descended on the crash, gathering up any remaining pieces of the burned craft and leaving only a burned field, an impact crater, and hundreds of wild theories. Most, however, pointed back to one thing: aliens.
The US government issued a statement not long after assuring the public that the craft was merely a United States Air Force weather balloon and there was no cause for alarm. This did little to satiate the appetite of hungry conspiracy theorists. Little did anyone know, that the crazed conspiracy theorists were correct. An alien craft had crashed in Roswell that night, and it’s pilot, codenamed “Mercury”, had perished. Mercury was a small, human-like creature with all the distinguishing features of a human, except Mercury had an extra set of smaller arms and legs that bent backward like a that of a bird.
This discovery led to an answer scientists had asked for years, humans were not the only intelligent species in the cosmos. Worse than that, they clearly were not the smartest.
This stunning revelation aside, humanity now had its own alien craft, and the US government wasted no time in trying to reverse-engineer it. They toiled relentlessly in a secure facility known as Area 51 for decades until one Doctor Jamie Garcia made a breakthrough.
While performing an experiment on the craft in a secure lab in the middle of Manhattan, one slip led to an explosion of mysterious energy from the engine core of the craft as a beam of pure energy shot through the earth and struck Flight 139 from Atlanta to JFK, destroying the leftmost engine and sending the plane hurtling into the Hudson River.
Those who survived the devastating crash woke up with strange new abilities and a million different questions. Some took this opportunity to do what they felt the law could not by protecting their city. Others took the opportunity to seize power they had only dreamed of by terrorizing the city. Others, still, chose to keep their powers a secret, to not bring themselves into the limelight created by the other super-powered survivors.
Regardless of what they chose to do, the government kept tabs on the survivors of Flight 139 for a year now. Now, with the threat of the alien race known as the Jecet, or the “Precursors” as the government calls them, the government is calling in their survivors to defend the planet. Can this rag-tag bunch of ordinary people with extraordinary powers protect the planet from a vengeful race of aliens, or will the Earth succumb to the might of the Precursors?
Welcome to Precursors! This is your typical superhero genre game, with a very DC’s Legends of Tomorrow feel in the sense that characters of all different alignments are very much encouraged.
Collaboration is highly encouraged and will be used for a lot of character interactions. I, myself, believe in “There is no such thing as a move that is too long.”
