It doesn’t matter how it happened. Whether it was the Netflix marathon or the steady line of ephedrine and caffeine, you managed to stay awake for longer than anyone you’ve ever known. And then, something happened. The world shifted just a little, a fraction of an inch, and you started to see things that weren’t there before. A door where there had been no door, an alleyway between buildings that were always set flush next to each other.
Sleep is an enemy now, and one that you don’t need to acknowledge. Being Awake for the first time has been a delight and a delirious study, but all good things come to an end. When you Awoke, you were no longer alone. The dreams that used to keep you company want to take you back, want to see you again. They miss you, and they won’t rest until you’re home again.
No matter the cost or collateral damage.
A story for 4-6 players, inspired and motivated by the independent RPG “Don’t Rest Your Head”. One move per week, minimum. You’re welcome to do side scenes and to collaborate on where the plot should go. I know what I’d like to tell, and that knowledge will get soft and flexible as time goes on!
Scenes may become NSFW, or mature in nature. Before such scenes go that direction, an open discussion will be had with the cast. Things won’t get TOO dark, but just a fair warning!
When you make your character, please include a recurring dream that they’ve had in the note to the narrator at submission. I will incorporate everything that you give me, and expound as the story requires. It’ll be good. Pinky promise.
I have a few sample Natures up. Create your own if you’d like to take a different angle!
