Short pitch:
You play a member of a pack of werewolves who are trying to find the gateway to a mythical werewolf paradise called the Lunar Forest. You’re being hunted by a large posse of well-armed and coordinated human hunters because one of your pack accidentally lost control and killed the son of a rich man. The supposed entrance to the Lunar Forest is on top of Moon Mountain, which a three or four day journey across the Great Valley from where you are now. The game will be about your journey from the edge of the valley to the top of Moon Mountain. The game will be set in the modern day and written in the third person past tense.
The game will be short, probably lasting one or two weeks (though of course I can’t say for sure how long it will really take, given this is my first time narrating). I’d like the posting speed to be “daily,” but we can slow down if enough players wish it. Once you reach your destination the game will be over.

EDIT: To clarify one point: the Great Valley isn’t your pack’s home turf; you were driven out of your territory by the hunters. When the game starts, you’ll just have arrived at the edge of the valley. None of you will be familiar with the valley.
Narration info:
Looking for 4-8 players. If you join and then find the game isn’t working out for you, that’s fine; not every game works out for every player. The sniper with the silver bullets will kill your character off, and the rest of the pack will travel on without you. Since player attrition is both understandable and a bit inevitable, I intend to accept closer to 8 players than 4, so that players who aren’t having fun can retire without any guilt.
I’d like the play speed to be “daily,” but it can be a bit slower. If enough players wish for a slower game, we can slow down, but I’d prefer to keep things going at a good pace.
This is my first time narrating. I’ve run tabletop RPG games before, but not any Storium games. So I’ll be learning the mechanics as we go along, and will be open to feedback about how to improve my narrative style and so forth.
When you make your character, please use the Nature card I’ve already defined. When you define your Strength and Weakness cards, please make sure to choose cards that could apply equally to your wolf and human forms. I’ve made some example Strength and Weakness cards, but I’d prefer that each player create their own custom cards.
Your wolf form will be represented by an asset card, so you don’t need to use your other cards to reflect your ability to change shape, your great big teeth, or anything like that. Please make your main character portrait your human self. If you also want a wolf portrait, please put it on your Nature card.

And, please go here to discuss your character with the other players:

Since your pack is already established and you all already know each other, I would like for my players to coordinate their character creation if at all possible.
It would also be lovely, though not necessary, to get some married couples or even kids in the pack. There won’t be any NPC pack members, so what you guys build is what we’ll get. If you’re willing to be related to or married to another character, just make sure to leave room in your backstory and/or be willing to do a bit of editing to fit the other person in later.
Also, either one player will need to play the werewolf who lost control and started this whole mess, or we can say that werewolf was killed by the hunters in the past couple of weeks. If you want to play the werewolf who lost control, why and how you lost control will be completely up to you.
Finally, this will be a short game, analogous to a tabletop RPG one-shot or mini-campaign. Instead of the television shows or book series that most Storium games aim to be, think of Escape to Moon Mountain as a novella or a standalone TV miniseries.
Invitations will remain open until late evening on Thursday, July 24th. Don’t freak out if it takes a while for me to get back to you on your character; I may wait until I’ve had several submissions to give feedback on any of them, so I can look at them as a group. I am hoping to begin the game proper on Saturday, July 26th, after an intervening period of discussion among the players so they can solidify their character concepts into a proper pack.
