You are an artist in the exciting and socially turbulent age of The Roaring 20’s in one of the most creative cities in the world; Paris. You are some of the best of the best in your art, thus one of the chosen few who are a invited to the coveted Salon of Gertrude Stein.
Every Saturday evening she opens her doors to you, a symbol of your success and potential. It’s the envy of most of the people in the art world. This evening seems like one of your regular evening; however, this evening proves to be anything but when it is discovered that Gertrude has vanished along with some of her most prized paintings!
Since the French Police are famously known for their incompetence and their devout Catholicism, so to say the least, they are unlikely to help. Therefore it falls upon your shoulders to help your
poor friend.
=========
Setting: Paris, France circa 1924
Tone: Light-hearted and realistic, with the odd serious moment.
Number of Players: 5-6 is my goal for this game.
(Dali and Hemingway are already spoken for. No Gertrude Steins will be accepted.)
Player Role: Artist first and foremost, but you will also be playing the role of detectives.
Power Scale: Average men
Starting Scene: Stein’s Salon on a Saturday Evening, small introduction time with a starting challenge or two before moving onto the bigger plot.
More Details: This is a historical fiction; so I’d like this to be as accurate as possible, however for the sake of ease I understand if facts are slightly off, but it’s more effective to keep it on point.
You may add other artists that you know of but please be reasonable- they had to be there in that place and time . (For example, William Shakespeare is a no-go.) I’ll ask that you describe your knowledge of the artist in your application comments outlining what you’ve read or seen of them as that will influence my decision on who I will select.
I ask that you also look into the relationships between the characters once they’re chosen as I do not want to spend a great deal on breaking the ice before getting things going.
*Please note the suggested Strength/Weakness/Subplots on the Nature cards as they are miss-linked
