The magnetic shields of the Tech Terror Machines deflect any high-speed projetile. Firearms and missiles were taken out of the equation.
The only thing to be able to penetrate their shields are vibro-blades - a new material specifically crafted to pierce through the magnetic shield. The only problem? Swordplay went out of fashion a few millenia past.
