The Duel Monsters company known as Setlan Inc. has lost three very valuable employees in a recent accident. To fix this problem, they have set up a large scale tournament that people can enter in groups of three. The winning team will have their pick of the three vacancies that the aforementioned accident left open. These spots include Setland’s top dueling representative, their head card designer, and head of any technology division of the winner’s choice.
The rules for entry are as listed:
The winners for the three jobs must form a group: a card designer, a tech specialist, and a duelist to represent them.
The designer will have to create a deck from scratch and submit it to Setland Inc. Once approved, they will receive an official version of said homebrewed cards to use in the tournament. [It should be noted that the writer playing the card designer will not actually have to create a deck from scratch, just a few deck ideas to work with unless they really want to work with me on creating a full deck.]
The technologist will have to make a blueprint and outline for a dueling device that will help their duelist in the tournament. Once Setland Inc looks over and approves this design, they will be given a budget, the tools needed, and a month’s time to create this tool. [Just like with the card designer, we’ll just discuss your character’s device until we find something we can agree on.]
The duelist themselves will have to use this deck and dueling device during the entire tournament. Usage of any other card or another team’s decive will result in disqualification.
THINGS TO NOTE
-This takes place in a universe parallel to the one of the first series, and will not contain any of the canon characters.
-We will use made-up cards, using the original card type to keep simplicity so we don’t spend ages on planning.(Normal/effect/fusion/ritual monsters and trap/spell cards.)
-Unlike the original series, we will use completely original millennium items, and if that’s the asset you choose, come up with an original idea of your own!
-We will be moving at a somewhat irregular pace, obviously a scene that includes a duel will go one longer than a scene that may be eavesdropping or something similar
-As far as the whole team thing goes, you do not need to talk to others before making your character, but the three characters in the game will, however, be paired together, so after the game starts it might be a good idea to talk to the other players to establish a background between the three protagonist characters.
**OOC RULES AND PREREQUISITES**
-Original characters only, no reusing of canon characters just because they will not be showing up in this series.
-If you feel confident in making your own nature, strengths, subplots, and weakness cards go ahead! I made some of the options purposefully limited so you’ll have to use your creativity!
-The specifics of dueling will be discussed when all the characters are added so you can get to making your character as quick as you can.
-Knowledge of the game is required, and knowledge of the show isn’t but it is recommended!
