You have dreamed of being an adventurer since childhood. You’ve fallen in love with tales of heroes slaying beasts, liberating kingdoms, and making legends for themselves, and you’re eager to try your hand at the craft. You’ve travelled to the nearest big city, Sto Karel, looking for the opportunity of a lifetime, and you think you’ve found your big break when you see a notice of adventurers wanted.
A rich merchant is seeking to finance an expedition to Farrador Keep, an old, isolated castle that sits in the center of a lake. The job looks simple enough; provide security and aid for the excavation, retrieve some artifacts there, return the goods. You follow up, do an interview with one of his lackeys, sign the paperwork, and get informed that along for the trip will be several others, people you’ve never met.
