Kismet Cafe is one of those little coffee shops that you’re never sure how it manages to stay open. You never hear much about it, good or bad. Maybe you’ve even dropped in for a cup of coffee to discover that the food is fine and the service isn’t awful, despite the bored aura of hipster surrounding the baristas.
But the location is terrible, sandwiched between two much bigger buildings on the edge of the industrial part of town. And their advertising is worse. The font they use on their sign is barely legible and they don’t even put a sandwich board on the sidewalk. There’s hardly ever anyone inside, not that you can see. To be fair, it’s hard to see inside, they don’t have great lighting, leaving the interior dark and a bit cave like.
Despite that, Kismet Cafe has remained open for years now. Probably because they host a number of late night parties with a very… specialized clientele. People who prefer a little discretion when they meet. People who live a different life from the average person, who may not be human at all.
And somehow, you have managed an invitation to one of these parties.
Welcome to the Kismet Cafe. Pull up a chair and mind where you put your cup.
