However you traveled here; by foot, horseback, teleportation, space ship, time travel, etc.; you have arrived at The Location, a genre agnostic place where The Story will begin. The important question is, why are you here? The answer: to find the elusive Plot.
Now that the requisite teaser/blurb is out of the way, let’s get to the crux of this particular story-game. I started this game to help with any newcomers who may be struggling with either getting into a game or understanding some of the basics of how Storium works. (Quick disclaimer, the latter is more subjective than you might realize. There are many interpretations of how to use the mechanics of the system.)
My goal is to provide a setting in which new players can explore a bit, show off a little of their style (and maybe work out the kinks), and then find a home for their character concepts.
Here’s how I would like this to work (keep in mind that this is collaborative, so suggestions are welcome and may change the course of this meta-game0):
Create a character - this can be anything you imagine from any genre that appeals to you. It could even be a character that you created for a game that you weren’t able to join.
How will a genre specific character work in a genre agnostic meta-game? We’ll figure that out together. I have plans for that in the first scene.
Two final points (I don’t want an uber-long description that will take up too much space):
1) This will be a short game (1 chapter, 4 scenes at the most).
2) Veteran players are welcome, if your intention is to help the newcomers along. Sort of like tutors or teacher’s aids.
If you want to discuss this further before joining, I started a thread in Looking For Group: Click Here
