Deep in rural Alaska, there is a compound that is off the grid, ruled with an iron fist by Father Solomon. He will usher his followers through this squalid little life and into the much greater beyond, where they will live in heaven for all eternity.
But there’s always a cog in the machinery, always, and that cog is a small group of people who are starting to suspect that Father Solomon might not actually be so perfect. Maybe he can’t actually talk to Jesus. Maybe he doesn’t help God decide who gets into heaven. Maybe he’s not a humble servant of the Almighty God. Maybe he’s not looking out for them after all. Maybe, just maybe, this is all smoke and mirrors…and maybe time is running out.

Hello potential players!
Please note that there are no sci-fi or supernatural elements in this story. This is simply the story of a doomsday cult, a la Jonestown, Branch Davidians, etc. I will be borrowing from real life cults for inspiration.
Please tell me as much about your character as you can! Were they born in the cult (they’d have to be under 25)? If not, what was life like before they came to the cult? What drew them to the cult? Are they devoted members, or starting to have doubts? Who are they as a person?
I am not sure how many players I’m looking for, but I’d say probably around five give or take a few. Please review other characters before you create yours. Most nature cards be used more than once, except really it wouldn’t make sense to have more than one Enforcer. If I can’t accept every character I’m very sorry and I’d love to do another story with you sometime!
Another note: The cult (not that they would call it that!) is Christian based but also has its own theology/dogma that comes from Father Solomon. *Please be warned that it might get a bit…irreverent.
When it comes to cards, please use the given nature cards, but feel free to come up with your own strength and weakness cards if you like!
I like active games! I promise I’ll do my best and not slack off and post nothing for days on end (and if something does come up I’ll let you know in advance). I’m willing to move the story along as quickly as everyone is willing. It’s set for normal speed, but again, I find in past experience narrating that it moves as quickly as people are willing to make it move! We will move where the story and characters take us. I have a very general overall plot idea, but the characters are really going to be the driving force of the story. I may move players’ characters every now and again to more the story forward, but that will be rare and I will do my very best not to take them ooc. Oh, and not to be a big meanie or anything, but if a character goes MIA for a week or longer, I reserve the right to appropriate said character and do what I will with them ;)
PS: For continuity’s sake, please write in third person. I’ll ask in the comments if people would prefer past or present tense once everyone joins the game.
