The portents are clear. There is evil afoot, and it is an affront to the righteous! Several of the village’s most devout have decided to meet in secret to figure things out and put a stop to the madness before the Wrath of the Almighty (or whatever this might be) is unleashed…
You’re a member of a rustic village circa the late 1600s. The culture is a mix of Puritain/medieval; it is generally expected that good people remain indoors at night while Evil is out doing its thing.
Part mystery, part thriller with some weird west thrown in. You might think of it as alternate history with possibly some light fantasy elements. Very low magic (if any).
