Thousands of years ago the gods clashed in war. The Titans led by Cronus faced a coalition of younger gods led by Zeus. For ten years the two faction fought for dominion over the universe. Ultimately the Titans lost the war, but not before laying a curse on the gods that had caused his defeat, that they too would be overthrown and the Titans would return to glory.
With the Titans defeated the victors divided the world into domains and ruled over them peacefully for centuries. It was a golden age and in this era human civilization flourished. Eventually Cronus’ prophecy came to pass as one by one the gods were driven to extinction by a mixture of infighting and the rise new religions out of the middle east.
Still the second half of Cronus’ prophecy has yet to come to pass. The gods have been reincarnated in human form, powers greatly diminished and only recently awakened to who they really are. Now a new Titan War is on the horizon for the fate of the world.
