The deep-space starship Dauntless has been dispatched on its maiden voyage - go beyond the colonial borders and investigate a derelict ship drifting towards the human colony on Clotho.
On the way, the new crew must shake down the vessel and ensure they are ready for whatever happens on the edge of explored space.
