There are many things in the world that go unseen by most people. They are disregarded as hallucinations, tricks of the mind, even scams. It’s easier to turn away from the darkness than see what’s behind it. There are some, however, who are illuminated or insane enough to see the truth of things.
There is a pattern in the dripping of pipes between the walls at 3 AM. There are messages hidden in the static of dead air. Eyes watch us at all times, and not all of them are human. These and many other things become clear once you know what to look for. It’s the Baader-Meinhow phenomenon.
Eventually, all the signs point to one location. Fairhaven, a small town on the coast of New England. Unremarkable to the point that most non-satellite maps won’t even acknowledge its existence, most of its visitors are tourists who took a wrong turn. They are out in a matter of minutes, forgetting they entered to begin with.
Those who walk in by choice are often far less lucky.
Shadows of Fairhaven is a horror story inspired by H.P Lovecraft’s setting and stories. Please include your character’s reason for entering the city in their bio or subplot. You are encouraged to create your own cards, as the deck is mostly for reference.
