Sergio Leone’s “Dollars Trilogy” (A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)) may not have initiated the Spaghetti Western genre, but it certainly helped define it. The square-jawed “Man with No Name” as played by Clint Eastwood became an iconic figure in tales of greed, betrayal, and violence. But this is not the entirety of the genre. It is said that over 600 European western films were created between 1960 and 1980. Thought lost for decades until recently found in a Tuscan sound studio, this is one of them.

Violence - Can be somewhat graphic. I’m okay with a Sam Peckinpah’s “Wild Bunch” level of blood and viscera. Sexual violence should be minimized, however. The threat of rape, of both women and men, was ever-present on the grim frontier, and certainly informed many decisions about travel and recreation, but I’d prefer to keep it outside the narrative and certainly non-explicit. Err on the side of discretion, please.

Sex, Consensual - This represents a major past-time for adults on the frontier, the reward at the end of a long cattle drive, for instance. Like most everything else in the genre, it can be direct and mercenary, with brothel tokens being minted for specific “transactions.” Romantic love and courtship is largely a thing of flowery fiction.

Profanity - Dialogue is at a premium in this genre, and often poorly dubbed. Innuendo is preferred to F-bombs. Take your cues from “Dollars” and not from Deadwood.

Tense - I don’t rightly care, but try to achieve some consistency within individual posts. I’ll likely default to past tense as in a dime novel rather than present tense from an RPG.

Pace - Real world intrusions will always take precedence, but I will endeavor to provide fair warning about any extended absences. I humbly request that all participants do the same.
