Lilith Cradle sunk her heart, soul and life savings into her research and it paid off. She did it. She created a super serum. Now she just needs a test subject.
“So you want to be a superhero?” Kade said trying to sound as upbeat as possible. Then he read the rest of mum’s script and buried his head in his hands. “I can’t do it,” he moaned.
“It can’t be that bad can it?” his sister Lucy asked, peering over his shoulder.
“You try,” he said, scooting out of the way.
“So you want to be a superhero?” Lucy said, doing a much better job of sounding perky and upbeat. “Now’s your chance. We have one vial of super serum to give to one lucky winner, all you have to do is… seriously, we’re going to Big Brother this shit?”
“It’s not Big Brother,” Kade said, sliding back onto the screen.
“We’re going to lock the contestants in a house with cameras and weekly challenges.”
“We won’t kick them out?” Kade said. “No eliminations, plus Big Brother is like copyrighted or some shit. This is totally different.”
“Mum’s sooo using your college fund to pay the legal fees.”
“Nah, she’s using it to pay for the house, she’ll have to use yours.”
“Bold of you to assume she hasn’t already,” Lucy said. “Anyway…” she gestured to the script
Kade cleared his throat and read the next part of the script. “The winner will be determined by their scores in each challenge, an in depth psychological profile by a panel of experts-“
“The wine aunts?” Lucy interrupted.
“The wine aunts,” Kade agreed, “and audience votes.”
“Which will be weighted by how much they donate to mum’s next mad experiment?” Lucy guessed.
“Probably.”
“We’re so going to jail for this,” Lucy sighed. “Alright, let’s take it from the top.”
“Um…”
“This is live isn’t it?”
“Yup,” Kade said.
“Right, well,” Lucy said with a bright smile and a little wave. “If you want to enter just click the link and fill out the application form. What’s the worst that can happen?”
