Due to certain choices you’ve made in life you’ve got debt. Lots of it. Just how much exactly? You could probably best describe it as insurmountable to the point where you were well on your way to being arrested and placed into one of the “debtor colonies” on the outer rim. If there’s one thing everyone knows it’s that those places are the last place anyone wants to be.
But you got lucky. Your debt was bought up by the Rygoji Corporation making you theirs until it’s been paid in full. What was it about you that piqued their interest? Only they know. What are they asking from you in return? Simple. Rygoji wants you to find people, bad people, for them and bring them back. Do so successfully and you’ll be generously rewarded. For each successful bounty you turn in a portion of the reward will go towards paying off your debt. Once it’s paid you’re free to do whatever you want but understand that if you leave before your debit is paid you’ll become the next bounty for all of those in Rygoji’s employ across the galaxy and they’ve got some pretty long arms.
They’ve assigned you to the Kodiak. One of the greatest ships in the galaxy when she was commissioned but that was many, many years ago. She’s a bit of a wreck now. Yet with some repairs she can be restored to her former glory as long as you’re willing to foot the bill. The ships on board intelligence (“Obi” for short) is still functioning and maintaining all of the Kodiak’s systems for you.
Rygoji makes sure to provide you with a meager monthly stipend but all expenses incurred during your travels are added to your debt. Therefore you’ve grown accustomed to living without many of the finer things in life. Your life is hard but it’s better then then any you’d ever have in a “debtor colony”. Therefore, you keep on keeping on one bounty at a time. You never know. The next one might be the one that buys you your freedom. Good luck out there, Space Cowboy!
A new chapter with a new narrator is ready to go, and we’ve refreshed half the crew. We could take on one or two more though. I’m not looking to change the character of the game, but the new players can always freshen up a game.
