When the Change Storm fell upon the land of Fer Drarin (A lesser holding of the High Prince Vamah) what was left in it’s wake could not be foreseen. Dozens of darkened peasants, and commoners bedded down for the coming of the rough storm, to awaken the next day with eyes of pale, clear blue.
The scholars of the Vorin were swift to interpret this as a sign of the will of the Almighty Beyond, and tout these new light eyes as highborn themselves, but others were not so willing to see the pillars of civilization so swiftly upturned.
For a fortnight the city of Fer Drarin was in upheaval, as the embittered nobles took it upon themselves to exterminate these false nobles before their true bearing could be brought to bare against the society that had stood since the time of the last Desolation.
Some of these newly elevated nobles, fled the city into the terrible wasteland known as the ‘Stone Bramble’, while others held out until the kings own cohort arrived to halt the fighting, and bring peace and justice to the lands.
The king’s edict as been issued, and seems amiable to the apparent will of the Almighty beyond He has declared that all who have been blessed with the iluminated eyes were entitled to titles if not lands of nobility.
