The Synopsis
This is a paranormal romance game, centering around werewolf pack dynamics in a world where supernatural creatures are starting to become public.
You are a member of the Salish Pack, a group of werwolves who’s home is in Bellingham, Washington. The area is known for being only about 90 minutes away from Seattle, about 60 minutes away from Vancouver, BC, and right in the middle of prime wilderness.
The Salish Pack has been kicking around Whatcom County and its environs since the middle of the 19th century when the city’s main industry was coal mining. The pack’s leadership has changed hands a few times, but for about the last eighty years, it’s rested in the hands of Griffin Essex, a self-made millionaire who once owned a private security company. He has, since, retired, spending most of his time at the pack house on land outside Bellingham, though he frequently consults.
The pack consists of 10-15 werewolves that live in the general area. Much of the time, you don’t see each other save for your monthly full moon hunts - where the pack blows off steam by killing animals in the woods. During crisis, however, the pack comes together to fight for and protect their own. You’re a fairly dysfunctional family what with all the anger flying around, but every wolf would surely die for each other, and there’s always a bed and a fresh change of clothes for you at the pack house.
With the rise of modern technology, an increasingly monitored population, and the lack of centralized data, werewolves and other supernatural creatures are having a harder and harder time staying hidden from the public.
There have already been a handful of incidents where wolves in their human forms performed feats of superhuman strength caught on tape, and there’s been a drug circulating in LA and San Francisco called “Red Plague” for a few months. For those in the know, the effects of the drug are strikingly similar to what happens when a human drinks vampire blood, but the source has yet to be found. And right in your own back yard, a company in Bellingham has claimed they’re working on the source of human immortality.
The world is on the edge of discovering who you are, and your pack has been given the task of Public Relations. A group of you are to travel the world investigating instances of supernatural activities. You’ll report your findings back to your Alpha, who in turn will tell you whether or not you should publicize or cover up the incident.
