The stage is set for the End Times. The curtain opens on Tokyo, where modernity meets tradition, and the darkest shadows crawl beneath the flashing neon lights.
There are rifts opening in this reality. The siren song grows louder and sweeter, and people are disappearing. No one seems to notice.
People all around the city are having the same strange dream, over and over. The dreamers have nothing in common, except for their state of emotional distress and the figure appearing in their sleep.
An angelic figure with an obscured face, and wings of dimly glowing orbs, stands in a field of white overlooking an alien sky.
It makes them an offer. Make a contract to fight the coming darkness, and have a wish granted in return.
It claims the power granted to those who accept to be Awakened will be immense, and that any wish may be granted, no matter how great.
Those who accept, however, quickly find out that the Gift is poisoned. Their wishes rapidly turn against them, and the nature of the foes they face, the Shades, erodes at their already weakened mental state. They cannot stop fighting, and their fate is more grim than any of them can imagine.
Others are filled with doubt, wondering what kind of wish would be worth a lifetime of fighting. But as they become more perceptive about the darkness closing in around them, they know they don’t have much time to decide.
There is much the Awakened don’t understand. The nature of their powers and their foes was never explained to them. And yet they have to take a stand, and attempt to hold back the darkness, both within and without.
So many have failed…

A few notes for the players:
-This is a Cosmic Horror story, heavily based on Puella Magi Madoka Magica and H.P. Lovecraft’s stories and themes.
-There are no restrictions on characters’ age and gender. Anyone affected by emotional distress, or having the potential to be, can be contacted. Characters who start without powers will be able to Awaken during the story.
-There will be a lot of emphasis on character interactions and development as opposed to simply fighting monsters.
-Invitations will stay open for around 3 days (depending on the number of applications), after which I will choose a group between 3-5 people.
