One night you went to bed at home and woke up… here, on an urban island you’ve never been to before. The other people on the Island arrived the same way. A lot of people have been separated from their family - children come without parents, parents only arrive with some of their children, married people may find that their spouse has not come with them. People of all races and ages arrive, though it seems that the number of children under the age of 10 is very very low.
The only other people on the island are the servants. The majority of these servants are completely mute. Those that aren’t mute – mostly the teachers – have very specific topics of discussion and are not allowed to deviate from those topics. The number of people on the Island is very small – 500, at the most, including servants – and much of the Island is abandoned buildings and forest.
You play one of the latest group of newcomers and are all living on the same block of connected townhomes. Each newcomer is encouraged to get to know their fellow group members and you are required to attend a weekly group meeting moderated by a “liaison”. You all start on Day One of your stay on the Island.
Do you choose to just kick back and enjoy life, or do you want to know the truth behind the arrivals and disappearances on the Island? It’s up to you.

I’m looking for at least 4-6 characters, maybe more. There are no set expectations for play, but if you’re not heard from for 3 weeks, your character may be retired. If you post in the commentary and let us know what’s up, I’ll be less likely to retire your character.
You are welcome to write one or two secondary characters for your character’s background. These characters may or may not live with your main character. If they don’t, they will be provided with a townhome. You can use these characters in posts you make, to help flesh out your character. Your play should absolutely focus on the character you are submitting. Be aware that these secondary characters may disappear whenever I want, though I will generally ask permission first. These are player-specific characters and no other players will be able to move them, outside of moi.

Please be aware that ALL characters have the implicit talent of “creativity”. Also, all characters have very vivid dreams, up to and including lucid dreams.
Here are the rules:
NO GODMODING. This means you do not move PC characters. Period, end of sentence. If someone is slow to respond, let me know and I’ll talk to them. This rule also applies to secondary PC characters.
If you win at a challenge, you are allowed to move general NPCs within reason. (Again, you cannot move secondary PC characters.) I prefer if you keep things vague, so I can fill in information.
If you win a challenge, be aware that you may be asked to edit your post if you end up writing something that’s going against my general plotline or if you violate rule 2.
I intend to use the cards lightly, but please try to keep the story moving.
I have left the role cards very vague, but please stick to these roles. Everything else is up for customization. Please specify what art form your character prefers in your bio. You’re more than welcome to dabble in other art forms, though. Some potential “art forms” are: teacher, sculptor, actress, scientist, doctor, author, graffiti artist, architect, fashion designer, and chef/baker. If a character is under the age of 18, they have the option of being a student. But, while you won’t have to pick an art form to focus on, I prefer if students have 2 or 3 areas that they focus on studying.

I am a stickler for grammar. If you can’t build a proper sentence, get you’re/your and they’re/their/there mixed up, or can’t tell the difference between a comma and a period, your character is less likely to be approved. Sorry!
