The airship Lorana has crashed on its way back from a long voyage out to colonial lands, wrecked on an uncharted island, beneath a sky of unfamiliar stars.
The crew and passengers - some hired to protect Lorana’s precious cargo, some buying their way on to the ship for safe passage back to her home port in Sathin, the most powerful nation on the planet - are hurt and scattered with the wreckage. The survivors are trapped in strange territory, like nowhere under Sathini control.
Survival isn’t going to be easy. The island hides dangerous secrets.
Notes:
Hectic adventures and strange occurrences abound in this fast-paced Fantasy/Steampunk adventure. Think high fantasy/Lord of the Rings/Dungeons and Dragons, but all human, and progressed to Steampunk technology and society. Magic and fantastic creatures are known, but rare and valuable and usually reserved for the elite units of Sathin’s army, feared and treasured in equal measure as a result. Dragonfire is an effective weapon against most opponents. There are all sorts of strange creatures out in the world - essentially, if it’s in mythology and it isn’t human-shaped (even partly, so no centaurs) it’s out there somewhere. But then, that was when you were under familiar constellations.
Secret backgrounds and ulterior motives are absolutely welcome, just use the narrator’s notes to tell me. We can arrange ways to discuss further secret information if necessary.
When creating a character, feel free to create your own nature/strengths/weaknesses/subplot cards, just make sure it fits with the main steampunk theme, and check - especially against characters that have already been accepted - that you’re not making a personality too close to someone who already exists. Variety is the spice of life.
Character Limit:
It’s a crowded airship. Lots of people on board for lots of reasons. And once the game has got moving, there’s a whole island to explore. So character submission is going to stay open for a while. Currently have 11 people, which is lots, and initially I did say upper limit of 12, so any new applications will have to be Just Too Much Fun To Pass Up if you’re really keen to come in. Give me someone with strong motivation and fascinating weaknesses, someone different to mix things up among the current crowd. Personality will beat secret backstory every time.
