“Hear me men of Enthrium!” Bruce shouted with what energy he had left, turning your head in acknowledgement.
“Look around you! Look at your wounded, look at your friends and at your enemies. Look at what you have done this day and rejoice!” Bruce exclaimed, raising his voice with giddy excitement as he spoke.
“The one horned demon is dead! Your captors lay dead or chocking in their own gore! Your hands are free and have delivered vengeance for your homes and your families!” Bruce said, lifting his hands to the sky.
You, along with your victorious brothers gather at Bruce Stoneclave, cheering at his words.
“Remember this day as the day that the playthings of gods, the puppets of cruel masters broke free of their chains and liberated themselves!” He screamed, his throat burning.
You feel the familiar burning of passion well up inside you and you begin to weep as your weapons fall to the ground. Those around you surely did to, some of them sobbed in acknowledgement, others threw up their own voices in a violent cheer, but all rejoiced.
“Yes, today we celebrate. Today we have won ourselves a great victory; a victory that will be remembered. This day will be remembered… You will be remembered.” Bruce continued as you cheer with tears in your eyes. You look around at the tired veterans of persecution.
“But… but its not over, the road to liberation; to freedom has only begun. I march to the aid of the free people of Enthrium. I march for what I have lost, for it is still lost. I march for my land for it is no longer my land… I have nothing to return to. So I will march. I will march and I will fight until my tired body collapses to the cold ground, or until the threat that these demons pose has been completely eradicated from the face of Enthrium”. Bruce paused again allowing his conviction stir the resolve building in you.
“I will march, but who will march with me? who will join me in this holly crusade?” Bruce asked solemnly.
You remember that day as if it were yesturday…
You are one of The Hundred marching with Bruce Stoneclave. That band referred to as The Hundred really consists at this point in time roughly 82 souls. The group of rag-tag hero’s got its name from a recent development in the War of Flames. A peculiar war that ravaged the borders of Enthrium. Mounths ago.
War had leapt up at the corners of Enthrium, engulfing much of it in smoke and destruction. The shadow of fear had been cast over the north; swiftly moving through villages and mighty cities alike. Family’s were torn apart, mountains of warriors slain, and crops burned. All manner of abominations had spilled out of the northern mountains.
You saw this war unfold with your very eyes. You were captured in the chaos and faced the fate of being sacrificed to the evil God behind this warfare. That was when Bruce Stoneclave and his mighty comrades came to your rescue and liberated a band of determined warriors. You now march to the aid of two great army’s in a push to a battle that will win you this war and stop the impeding summoning of Duradon and the implementation of his awful reign.
It is also very possible that you joined the march somewhere down the road and were not among the original one hundred prisoners. Either was please explain how your character came to join the band of one hundred.
