What happens when a 17-year-old has the place to themselves for the whole weekend because their parents are out of town? Right. They’re going to invite their friends over to keep them company until their guardians are safely back from their trip to Aunt Mildred. Said parents don’t even mind, they even got enough comfort food to tide the whole group over the weekend. After all, the house is big and drafty and creaky and they don’t want their baby to be freaked out. Hooray! Let the weekend of endless fun (WOEF™) begin!
What happens once the ice cream is eaten, pillow fights have gotten half-assed (apart from that one person who never gets that we’re not doing this anymore!), horror films have been watched and people are getting tired? Right. They’re going to start hearing things.
What happens if the source of these ‘things’ cannot be detected? Right. People are going to turn on each other and WOEF™ is going to turn into woe™ faster than you can say ‘Oh bother!’
