It is 1937, in a world much like our own the British Empire is at it’s peak and the Nazi menace is beginning to threaten Europe.
There are threats to the Empire far darker than mortal men however, no matter how evil their hearts might be.
The Ministry of Paranormal Research and Defence was formed to oppose such evils in 1932. An action spurred by the discovery that the declining health of King George V was due to some manner of Curse.
It is a strange organisation, cobbled together from a variety of different, and sometimes competing, parts. The MPRD includes the areas of the British Government which held mandates relating to the Occult when it formed (primarily the British Army Arcane Warfare Division and the British Directorate of Military Intelligence Section 9), members of occult secret societies from throughout the Empire and civilian experts of every kind.
It stands as the Empire’s first, and last, line of defence against those things that lurk in the darkness.
When the need arises, the MPRD also opposes occult threats outside the borders of the Empire; when they gain strength in nations less able to defend themselves.
Which, in the view of the Minister, is all of them.

Equal parts occult horror and pulp action.
Aiming for a theme and tone somewhere between Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Indiana Jones and Hellboy with a touch of Cthulhu for good measure.
Characterisation and storytelling important.
Historical accuracy and depiction of the period less so, this is explicitly not our Earth.
I’m planning on handing out some assets to start so please provide details of three things your character owns which are important to them (weapons, tools, vehicles, artefacts, spell-books, money, property) in your background and I’ll hand out some assets.
I’ve got exams coming up so the game probably won’t start until after 16 June 2014 (Though who knows, I might get tempted).
