Images, sounds, words; anything intangible or noncorporeal has residence in the ‘Net. Things are copied, reproduced, mirrored. Without the need to exist in meatspace, everyone can have everything, duplicated endlessly through an infinite arrangement of binary. The only thing of any value is something unique; an idea only one person has had.
DeoxyTech has been hacked. Nobody knows what data was taken, since anyone who could’ve explained has been shut up by an NDA or just went missing, a common end to those who fail in the corporate sector. The message boards are all abuzz with bounties for whatever the prize was; some posted by DeoxyTech, some by rival corps, some by people who are hoping to release that info into the wild, and some by people hoping to hoard it for themselves.
Whatever party acquires it will have unparalleled power in this brave new world.
