The Unbroken Bonds

In the world of Ikura there are two types of people, eighty percent of the population were normal humans, and the remaining twenty percent were known as bonded. The bonded are humans who have become magically linked to a creature and gained powers, there are four types of bonded. Unicorn bonded, Kitsune bonded, Gryphon bonded and Dragon bonded. When children turn 18, they will receive a mark on the back of their hand dictating if they are bonded, if you are the creature you are bonded to depends on your defining personality trait. If you get a sword as your mark, you are a normal human. However if you get a horn, you are unicorn bonded, if you get twin tails? you’re kitsune bonded, a feather? gryphon bonded, or a scale meaning dragon bonded. But hundreds of years ago, due to an unknown calamity, the royal family decided to declare that all bondeds were monsters who needed to be eradicated. The academies that once taught bondeds how to use their powers were burned and any bondeds found were executed. The children who become bonded are immediately imprisoned. However there are still rebel villages out there who disagree with this rule and thus protect their bondeds. While other individuals try to hide their own bonds and…
