From America’s earliest days, the Lynch dynasty has been one of the south’s wealthiest families. Their sprawling plantations covered much of Georgia’s most fertile farmland. After the civil war brought devastation to their home state, the Lynches endured by establishing steel and oil corporations, becoming robber barons of great power and influence.
The year is now 1953. Archibald Lynch III, current patriarch of the Lynch clan, holds the vast majority of the family wealth. He serves as CEO and principle owner of the Lynch Corporation, with an estimated net worth of nearly a billion dollars.
Always putting business ahead of family, Archibald’s relationship with his three children was always strained. His wealth made him demanding, stubborn, and narcissistic, making him a challenging father at even the best of times.
In recent months, Archibald’s health had deteriorated rapidly. Now sickly and bedridden, Archibald called for his children to return to the family plantation house for what would almost certainly be his last Christmas alive. He also called for his lawyer, intending to make his final revisions to his will and testament.
Would Archibald’s children come and genuinely seek reconciliation in their father’s final days? Would they pretend to be seeking such as a ploy to work their way into their father’s final will? Would anyone stoop to even more dastardly schemes to ensure their inheritance?
Whatever happened, it was bound to be an eventful Christmas at the Lynch plantation.
