Time is breaking! Realities are disappearing! The END is Nigh!
It is the middle of the night. As you sit dozing, staring into your campfire/hearth/candle light/television/computer screen, there is a loud thunderous noise, which awakens you from your slumber.
Everything around you suddenly feels wrong. As you look up at the night’s sky, you see a sight that makes your heart grow cold with fear.
There’s a fine patterns of cracks among the stars, as if the night’s sky has become a sun baked clay landscape. As you watch, the cracks slowly grow in length and width. Through them an unending void is visible. Staring into it makes your head spin.
As you look down, you now see your surroundings slowly fading away. Everything, including the ground underneath your feet is becoming transparent and slowly disappears from sight.
The only two things that appear to be as real as ever, are you yourself and the bright object you were staring at when you first felt the breaking of the world. The campfire/hearth/candle/television/computer screen appears to be more real than all the rest. While everything around you fades away, it flashes even more brightly. As the light engulfs you, you feel yourself being torn away from this place and time. Into the void.
SETTING
TIME and SPACE are broken. The whole cloth of reality has been torn asunder and whole realities have been destroyed. Slowly but surely the rest of the space-time continuum is unraveling.
Whole timelines have separated from the rest of reality, some time lines have become time loops, certain time lines have become trapped in time bubbles, multiple time lines have merged to become highly unstable new time lines, and in some realities time is moving backwards or even sideways.
You don’t know who or what caused it, but you instinctively know that someone has to stop it, maybe even repair it. And that person is you.
You have always had a sense for when something was wrong or right in the reality around you. You had a gift and you always thought of it as a knack or an instinct. This gift set you apart from your peers, but it also made you extremely good at your job.
Now your world is gone and slowly but surely the rest of reality is disappearing until nothing is left.
You and your companions have the gifts to sense the wrengths around you and if you cooperate, you can right them.
You have no influence on the paths you’ll take through the time streams, but you have to trust that TIME itself will help you along to the right places and times so that you can mend it.
You are realities’ last hope so trust your instincts and heal the worlds.
THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT!!! THOUGH THERE ARE GREAT TIME TRAVEL STORIES SET IN SPECIFIC GAME WORLDS HERE ON STORIUM, I WANT TO TRY TO CREATE A TIME TRAVEL SETTING AS A WORLD/SETTING OF ITS OWN. I’M STILL WORKING OUT THE DETAILS, BUT THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR I WANT TO IMPROVE THE WORLD. I’LL CLONE IT AND TRY TO WORK THE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE NEXT WORLD.
I’M INEXPERIENCED AS A NARRATOR WITHIN STORIUM, BUT EXPERIENCED AS DM/GM/STORYTELLER. WHO WANTS TO JOIN ME ON THIS FIRST TRIAL RUN?
