The City has fallen.
Street Gangs & Organized Crime, with their drugs and their guns have taken over. Elected officials are puppets or totally ineffectual and police are outnumbered, outgunned, or bought and paid for.
It’s time to take a stand. The City needs a symbol. Someone who can’t be bought. Someone not afraid to stand up to the thugs running wild in the streets.
Someone like you.
Vigilantes is a story based on such movies at The Punisher and Dark Knight, along with shows like Arrow. It will be flagged as NSFW due to violence, language and some mature content.
The players will portray the first generation of vigilante heroes (hence the name) to take a stand against the corruption of the city and the gangs that foster it. Addendum : I’ve been getting alot of assassin/ex-assassin type submissions. While the setting will be grim and gritty keep in mind the characters are supposed to be HEROES who stand against the anarchy and corruption of the city!
They will be basically normal humans, (though highly skilled and/or extremely fit) and who may have access to some comic book level tech if it matches their themes. (Tech items will be handed out as assets at start of game). Try to keep things as real world as possible, but feel free to skirt the edge. No mutant powers, aliens, robots etc..
I will post new scenes typically every Monday and Thursday night or more if needed.
I expect active players! Please try and post at least every other day if possible. PLEASE COMMUNICATE if you’re unable to post for a few days. Also, if you feel later that the game just isn’t for you, I won’t be upset if you pm me and ask to bow out. I’d just appreciate the opportunity to allow your character a dramatic exit, rather than just fading away.
I’ve made a few player cards for inspiration, please feel free to make your own theme-appropriate cards. Subject to my approval naturally.
Character bio’s will have the following information in them at minimum. failure to do so will result in character’s decline.
Alias up at the top, Real name/ID in the description.
Occupation: Or at the very least how they manage to feed and clothe themselves.. Can’t have naked hungry vigilante’s roaming the streets. Set’s a bad precedent.
A reason why they’re fed up with The City’s crime and corruption. (Family shot down by gangster drive-by, just loves the city and can’t stand the decay.. etc. )
Players must also send me the name of Super-Chicken’s sidekick upon submission. (If you don’t know it, say so.. I just want proof you read this far. ;-)
