I was forced to read Romeo and Juliet for a class. I SparkNotes-ed my way through the entire unit, and to this day, I find new lines from the play I have no recollection of studying.
This classic tale of star-crossed lovers is regarded as the romance to end all romances, and for what? Does anyone actually like Romeo and Juliet? Can anyone explain the plot in a logical, comprehensive manner?
This retelling will address most grievances I have with the pedestal Shakespeare’s unbelievably foolish characters have been placed on. I’m willing to bet that, even if you’ve read the play recently, you can’t remember half of what was said or done.
You think you know the story, and you think you know how it ends. Will you put yourself to the test, and rewrite Shakespeare’s feather-in-cap as he intended?
